When I first heard the phrase “Living in the wish fulfilled ” I instantly felt what it meant, but at the same time the rational part of me was sceptical. Then I remembered three distinct times that I inadvertently followed this principle and got what I wanted. It’s so simple we don’t see it.
Lets look at what the phrase means and how you can use it to get what you want.
What Does Living in the Wish Fulfilled Mean?
Living in the wish fulfilled is a phrase used by Neville Goddard, a spiritual teacher and author who lived in the 20th century.
He taught that the key to manifesting your desires is to assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled. In other words, you have to act as if your wish has already come true, and feel the emotions that come with it. He said to pray is to believe.
How Can You Start Living in the Wish Fulfilled Today?
Living in the wish fulfilled starts with knowing what you want.
For some this is easy. If you are one of those people that find this difficult, you might have to dig deeper to understand why you are not allowing your imagination to flourish.
Each individual will have different reasons for not being clear on what they want. It could be low self worth or you may have been taught as a child to want things for yourself is wrong (Hint: it’s not, it’s the most natural thing in the world). It could also be you want so many things at the same time that you cannot choose which one to focus on.
If you cannot find a way to overcome the obstacles get some assistance. You can speak to a friend, therapist or a manifesting coach.
As long as the desire is something you truly want, you don’t have to worry about anything else. You will know it is something really want because you will get an excited feeling when you think about it. But make sure it is something specific.
You don’t have to be realistic as some people suggest, most of the time they mean don’t think big. Think big as you like, just as long as your desire follows the laws of physics!
What to Do Once You Know What You Want
Close your eyes and imagine yourself living in the wish fulfilled.
Use all your senses to make it as real as possible.
See yourself doing the things you would if you had your desire.
Hear yourself talking about how happy and grateful you are.
Feel yourself enjoying every moment of your experience.
Smell, touch and feel the objects and textures around you.
Living IN the Wish Fulfilled NOT “from”.
Notice the wording he used. It’s living IN the wish fulfilled not, living FROM.
Living in, means you are experiencing it as you experience where you are now. It’s not somewhere else or in the future. The wish and the getting the wish are one.
Living from, would mean the wish and the fulfilment are separate. You would be imagining what you want in the future, from the point of view of the wish.
One comes from a place of abundance and the other from a place of lack.
So be careful, I have seen people use FROM instead of IN and also use them interchangeably. They are different.
How Can Living in the Wish Fulfilled Change Your Life?
The main purpose of living in the wish fulfilled is to learn that we are all creators of our own life. This comes down to living from trust. That means trusting God, Dao or the universe. It does not matter what you call it. But trust is the major component, without it you will block your desires.
How you come to this trust is a personal journey. You may already gave a faith of some kind. If not, go into nature and look how everything is being perfectly what it is supposed to be, it does not struggle or doubt what it is. You can call this lack of doubt, trust.
Don’t worry, follow what you read in in this post, and as your life starts to change you will come to trust something bigger than yourself naturally. The law of detachment, goes into this further.
What you will find is when you live from trust it changes your experience of life. Your go from living in fear to joy and love.
Living in the wish fulfilled will attract opportunities and people to you. Some you will have imagined, others will be a surprise because they did not even enter your mind. The energy you put out with your thoughts and feelings will come back to you in equal measure. Read the law of compensation, to learn more.
How I Used Living in the Wish Fulfilled
Many years ago, I wanted to change jobs but did not want to work in a similar environment. I had no idea what to do, until one day I imagined my ideal hours and location. It was so clear, that I had no doubt that the job was available and it was mine. A few weeks later I was working in place that was perfect for that time of my life.
I now realise I was living in the wish fulfilled. It seems magical when it happens, but also ordinary. Like “oh yeah, I knew I could do this.”
Other positive “side affects” when you Live in the Wish Fulfilled
It boosts your confidence and self-esteem.
When you live in the wish fulfilled, you are affirming your worthiness and ability to achieve your goals. You are telling yourself that you deserve to have what you want, and that you are capable of making it happen.
This will improve your self image and your confidence will attract others people who resonate with your energy. This will give you further opportunities to fulfil your desires.
It improves your mood and well-being.
When you live in the wish fulfilled, you are experiencing positive emotions that enhance your happiness and satisfaction. You are also reducing stress and anxiety by focusing on what you want, rather than what you don’t want.
This way you are getting rid of one the biggest reasons people feel anxiety and sadness, they focus on what they don’t have. And they believe they cannot have it.
When your mood changes, you have more energy to go for what you want and take advantage of the opportunities presented to you..
It creates a positive feedback loop.
When you live in the wish fulfilled, you are creating a positive feedback loop that reinforces your belief and motivation. The more you live this way, the more evidence you see that your wish is coming true.
Repeat this process before going to sleep and after waking up. These are two of the most powerful times of the day, when your subconscious mind is open and your conscious mind is less likely to get in the way.
Neville Goddard emphasised doing this at night time. He said you should drop of to sleep while living in the wish fulfilled.
The more evidence you see, the more you believe in your wish. The more you believe in your wish, the more motivated you are to take action towards it.
You Are One
NOTE: You can skip this little bit if you like. It may sound too esoteric and woo woo. This is just the icing, you can start manifesting now without reading this part.
You and the universe are one. What you manifest is you.
When you go deep into the feeling of the wish fulfilled, you will see that not only is the wish and it’s fulfilment the same thing, but that you are also them.
Neville Goddard spoke often about how “I and the father are one” and your “I am” and gods “I am” are the one in the same. It’s his way of saying all is one, and you are that one.
Again, you can substitute god and father with universe, higher self or whatever feels right for you.
The law of divine oneness goes into this deeply.
Living in the wish fulfilled is a powerful manifestation method that can help you create your desires and change your life.
The phrase comes from Neville Goddard, who said you have to get the feeling as if you already had your desire, until what you feel “objectifies itself.”
All you need to do is choose one wish, write it down or make it into an affirmation, and imagine yourself vividly living in the wish fulfilled before you go to sleep and when you wake up. In a short time you will continue feeling it and the universe will respond.
When you assume your desire has already happened your feelings will automatically change.
Remember, although the main reason for the phrase is to learn to manifest your desire, you will also notice other positive benefits like feeling in a better mood, with more self worth and confidence.
Start tonight before you go to bed. Your imagination is like anything, the more you practice the better you will get at it
